Artist's Description
female sea lion from the Los Islotes sea lion colony in the Sea of Cortez, not far from La Paz, Mexico, rests on the bottom of a pool area. When I approached her, down at her level, she would come up to me and would get within a few inches of my face. The sea lions are much like inquisitive puppy dogs of the sea and will interact with the divers. The sea lions from this colony are quite accustomed to snorkelers and scuba divers and will play with the humans.
